There is simply not a better exam prep option out there. I took the HVAC and Refrigeration exam and passed it on the first try, with confidence, thanks to Dan's course. There are two things I find especially unique about the way Dan's course prepares you better than others. First, Dan has incredibly detailed, written out, and narrated solution to all of his problems. He explains them like a human being, and gives you real world examples of how to think about concepts. This video narration also makes it easy to start a solution, get a hint, then pause it and solve the problem on your own. This technique was incredibly useful to me. Second, Dan makes himself available as if he's your actual professor! I shared numerous email back-and-forth with Dan where he answered all my questions and gave great advice. His office hours are crucial as well. There's nothing worse than getting stuck on a problem outside of Dan's course and not knowing where to look for an explanation of why it isn't making sense to you.I can't recommend this course enough for anyone trying to pass the exam!

This course is excellent. Pursuing a PE some 20 years after graduating, I passed my PE exam on the first try. The material in the course was clear, detailed, and sufficient. I highly recommend Dan's course, certainly over PPI and other courses I considered. He's an excellent teacher and very accessible for those more tenacious problems. Note I still found surprises on the exam, but the goal was to pass it, and the goal was achieved. Consider purchasing NCEES practice tests if you have time and want more confidence.

Thanks to Dan Malloy for this course and for the personal interaction which helped me decide how to approach the study and preparation for the exam. I know that it would have taken at least 4 or 5 times longer to study the material if I had done this on my own, which would have probably discouraged me from pursuing it. If you are looking to pass the Mechanical PE: HVAC and Refrigeration Exam, take this class. By the time you are done going through all the practice problems that Dan has taken the time to systematically break down in his videos you will be more than prepared to take the exam.When I started my studying journey, I had taken a PPI PE Exam Prep class and at the end of that class I did not feel prepared at all. Great course!! I only reviewed the content of the course. The way that Dan explains all the content in the prep material is very simple and thorough. When I was done with the prep videos, I started the practice problems (offered as part of the course) and watched the solutions afterwards. When done with that, I was pretty ready to take the exam so I took the two practice exams (offered as part of course) and scheduled my PE exam soon after that. It is a time saver to take this course and go over the content that are most probable to be in the actual exam rather than trying to study on your own. The course will provide you detailed plan and roadmap and it is very easy to follow and pass the exam. Can't overstate the value of Mechanical PE Exam Prep. I purchased the full study bundle for HVAC&R and so glad I did. I spent about 150 hours across three months studying and passed the PE exam on the first attempt. For what it's worth, the study materials had me so well prepared that I was able to complete the actual exam with about two hours to spare, even after having reviewed a few problems that challenged me. It was great! I think this course was just the right amount of difficulty and complexity to easily follow, keep yourself accountable, and get the results you need. I was not feeling confident before joining the course, but I had a plan laid out when I joined and talked to Dan about it. He agreed on my plan and I set on forward to PRACTICE and CONSISTENCY throughout my plan. Overall it took me 11 - 12 weeks from when I joined to when I took the exam. I prepared well by doing the problems, reviewing the videos after getting stuck on a problem for longer than 15 minutes, then flagging those problems I got stuck. I would move on to the next section and repeat the same strategy. At the end, I allowed myself 4 weeks to review all the flagged questions from all sections, take 2 practice exams, then reviewed the flagged questions for those exams. At last, I took the NCEES practice exams and felt confident. The day of the exam I finished 1.5 hours earlier (after reviewing all questions twice) because I was doing the problems in "automatic" mode because they came as second nature. Dan's material and strategy, along with my practice and consistency, played a vital role in passing the exam WITHOUT stressing during the exam. I felt confident, I knew what I was doing, I knew where to find the information in the handbook, and I knew how to answer the questions or engineer my way to answer the questions correctly.Best course out there to pass the PE Exam!!!

I could not have passed the exam without this course. I took the PE exam before taking this course and did not pass. I signed up for this course 45 days before taking the exam the second time and passed. I highly recommend this course to anyone studying to take the exam.

This is a fantastic program and worthwhile to sign-up for if you are serious about passing the PE exam. I appreciate how personable and attentive Dan is and the explanations of the concepts are likely the best around. Mechanical PE Prep with Dan Molloy has been a phenomenal tool for studying for the PE.Before attempting my first test, I subscribed to another top website to study for the PE and found that it took up a lot of time with buffer material, live video streams that were all over the place, wrong answers in the slide decks used for presentations, wrong answers in practice quizzes etc. Also when it came to using the NCEES practice test, I couldn’t fully understand how they arrived at the solutions that were provided in the back of the exam booklet.Dan Molloy’s approach of breaking down the information to a simple way to understand it quickly, providing modern tools; such as. YouTube to provide great teaching content, providing multiple approaches to teaching (watching videos, using practice test, having bi-weekly live answer sessions, providing monthly one-on-one discussions, providing daily quick tips, providing equation sheets etc.) has helped to study this material concisely, in a decently short period of time. A lot of Dan’s content is also downloadable, so you can study while you are on a trip with no internet access, unlike other study websites that require internet access. Dan also provides videos, where he breaks down the answers to the NCEES test booklet to where you understand it.Mechanical PE Prep greatly helped me to feel confident and to pass the Mechanical PE test. If you are looking to pass the PE test and become a better engineer, you should definitely consider this program.I recently passed (on the first try) the PE Exam: HVAC and Refrigeration. I believe a lot of my success came from going through Dan’s course. If you’re anything like me, when I committed to taking the PE Test, I was overwhelmed with the thought of studying. I didn’t know what material I should study, and I certainly didn’t know where to start. I was discouraged by other study programs when I came to realize they were heavily textbook / academia focused, and did not have a great structure for solving practice problems. Dan is very personable, and will work with you one-on-one to make sure you are successful. This is a huge advantage over other programs where you don't get as much one-on-one time with your instructor.Dans course conveniently organizes the exam subjects into easy to follow modules. He starts off with a review of the fundamentals, essentially reviewing/teaching subjects that actually matter for the test and in real life applications. After covering the fundamentals, the program takes you through each subject and focuses on solving many practice problems. Each problem has some type of twist that focuses on the many variations the test could throw at you. The video solutions are incredibly helpful to unpack each step, and the office hours are super beneficial when something just is not clicking. Side note - Take notes when studying and use it as a "cheat sheet" of things you need to further review, memorize, ect... this will save you lots of time the last few weeks of your studying.My study plan consisted of 4.5 months of studying 1-2 hours each day, including weekends. Sure, I missed some days, but ultimately I did not cram material into a weekend project. I took it slow and trusted the process. I went into exam day confident and relaxed, and I left the exam feeling confident and relaxed.So… If you are willing to put in the time and effort to prepare for this exam, I have no doubt in my mind you can and will pass on the first try! Or, If you are here because this is your second or third try, Dans course will help you unpack your sticking points, and get you on the right track. By the end of the course you will have worked on hundreds of practice problems, which is key to your success. It’s not enough to just watch videos or skim through a solution book and hope you will remember the process. I promise, your hard work will pay off! Best of Luck to you

Dan's Mechanical PE Exam Prep was extremely helpful on my journey to become a PE. The questions were pointed, and the videos working the problems explained which equations to use, but moreover, explained the science in a relatable way. This was helpful for retention and improving critical thinking skills that undoubtedly were beneficial for the exam. In addition to the materials, Dan also hosts monthly check in meetings to discuss progress, amping up the accountability factor. The best part of this program definitely is the office hours though. Any questions you have, Dan tackles and provides his own spin on thought processes, again driving up those critical thinking skills.TLDR; if you are thinking about purchasing the Mechanical PE Exam Prep materials, DO it. You won't regret it.

I just recently passed my PE exam using Dan's Mechanical PE Exam Prep. I am not a design engineer and do not typically work with most of the material on the exam. I first tried a more corporate course and I can't say I got a lot of out it. I saw Dan's videos on youtube and reached out to him and that was the best decision I made. His course is great for someone like me that lacked the day to day experience. There is a lot of example problems that are specific to the exam. I didn't just learn the math but more importantly the concept on how to use the refrigation charts, phsyc charts, heat loss equations, bernoulli's equation, and much more. I would send emails asking questions on practice problems and his responses were quick and thorough. I would highly recommend this course. I don't believe I would have passed the exam without his help.

This is a great course. It's well thought out. I like the way Dan Molloy teaches. I'm not the brightest student, so I allowed myself the time to go through the complete course a couple times.
